My Journey

I grew up in Sheffield, surrounded by people who prized straight talking, hard work and showing up even when things were tough. It was a place where you learnt quickly to read the room, keep your feet on the ground and stay connected to what really matters. Those early lessons shaped me long before I knew I’d build a career around helping leaders do exactly that. 

My path began in global financial services - high expectations, tight timeframes and pressure that never really let up. I was fascinated by what separated leaders who survived from those who truly led. It became obvious that the differentiator wasn’t technical brilliance or strategy. It was how people thought together, built trust and made space for real conversations. The more senior I became, the clearer it was that culture, context and the invisible dynamics between people were where performance was won or lost. That realisation was my pivot point. 

Moving to Asia stretched me further. Leading work across APAC meant navigating complexity, cultural nuance and systems that behaved very differently on the surface than underneath. It taught me to listen beyond what was being said, to look for signals others missed and to work with the whole system, not just the loudest parts of it. Today, those experiences underpin my practice: helping leaders and teams cut through noise, see what is really happening and move with clarity and intention when it matters most. 

Why  I work with Teams 

Teams are where the truth sits. They expose the gap between what leaders hope for and what actually plays out day to day. They’re the arena where strengths collide, assumptions surface and the real work of leadership happens. I’m drawn to teams because when they shift - even slightly - the ripple is immediate and organisational. 

What excites me is helping talented people reconnect with each other and with the purpose that brought them together in the first place. When teams can name what’s been getting in their way, challenge with respect and think together rather than beside each other, everything moves. Momentum returns. Decisions sharpen. Trust builds. That moment when a team finds its rhythm again, when the system breathes out and the work becomes lighter and more aligned - that is why I do this. It’s where performance lifts and leadership feels human again.
